The 2007 Edgerton In-House Transfer Lottery is now open. Rules and lists of available rooms can be found at http://eh.mit.edu/transfer2007.php .

To participate, you must pick up an application form available at the Front Desk on Wednesday evening. Applications must be returned to the Daytime Front Desk Worker (Katina Ross, 8-4pm). You will be asked to present a form of ID (eg driver's license or passport).

Please remember, by entering this lottery, you are committed to entering the new room. Participants in the room transfer lottery who decide to forfeit their new room assignment will also forfeit their current rooming assignment, their continuing student status, and be ineligible to future room transfer lotteries.

We are currently accepting applications for the newly created External Relations Chair position. The selected officer will have guaranteed Edgerton Housing for the next school year. If you would like to apply for this position, send the following to the officer board at eh-officers@mit.edu by May 6th 2007:

- Your name.
- 150 word statement as to why you would like to be the External Relations Officer.
- Your availability from 7-8pm on 5/8 and 5/9 (interview with current board).

Regarding the Election Day Survey question regarding the NW Shuttle:

The SAB has indicated that some Edgerton residents wish to express
further opinions about the NW shuttle. I will be sharing the results of the Election Day Survey with the HCA and Transportation Department next week. If you would like to add a personal letter to these results, please send it to the Edgerton Graduate Coordinator by email (klima@mit.edu) or by snail-mail (219A) by MONDAY, 2/26.

Edgerton House will hold elections for all 9 elected officer positions on February 22, 2007. Interested candidates can declare their candidacy starting February 5, 2007. See the Elections page for more details and instructions.

I've set up a computer in the lobby for public use. You can use it to browse the web, check for new events at Edgerton, look up the shuttle schedule on Shuttletrack, or anything else you wish. Just don't do anything illegal like sharing copyrighted content. Enjoy, and let me know if you have any suggestions on how it can be improved!

For your convenience, I'm selling blank CDs for $0.25 apiece for the computer in the small lounge. This way you can use the small lounge computer to burn CDs (just use the "CD/DVD Creator" in the "Places" tab in the menu and drag your files into the window). Since I think it's more convenient for everyone if you can buy CDs whenever you want, I'm going to leave the CDs by the computer and trust you guys to pay for any CDs you use by depositing coins in the cup on top of the computer. Periodically I'll collect the money and bring out more blank CDs. If this works well and people like this system, I'll keep doing it. Otherwise I'll think of something else. Let me know if you have any comments or suggestions, and email me if you want the login and password for the lounge computer.

I've brought the small lounge public computer back online. You can use it for web browsing and burning CDs. Soon we will be getting a new scanner and speakers for it as well. Just email me to get the login and password for the computer. We are also going to set up a computer in the front lobby to display the latest announcements and let you do things such as check the MIT shuttle schedules. Let me know if you have any other ideas or suggestions for the lounge or lobby computers.
