Italian Wine Tasting

This month's Edgerton social will be held on July 16:

What: Professional Italian Wine Tasting
Where: Large Lounge
When: 7pm, Wed Jul. 16

- $10 per person to be paid at the door (this event has a $50 value per person!).
- 20 person limit. People need to pre-register for the event by emailing Ulric at uferner(at)mit.edu

Italian wines, food and culture are intimately linked.  Be taken on a 'tour' of what the wines of Italy has to offer!

Grad Gala Reception 2008
We hope you enjoyed the successful Grad Gala Reception held on May 3, 2008. Although the weather could have been better, we still had the beautiful cherry blossoms, live music, and a wide variety of appetizers as a part of this formal event. We especially hope you enjoyed the chocolate-covered strawberries, all lovingly hand-dipped by your officers! Check out some photos in the Photo Gallery.

A successful social and more to come

Congratulations to our social chairs, Vivek and Ulric, for throwing their first Edgerton House social!  The ping-pong themed social was a great success, with many residents using our newly purchased rackets to participate in the casual tourney.  Little did we know that our social chairs were secretly ping-pong experts, and despite many formidable challengers, they were able to gather the most number of wins.  Their winnings tonight -- two advanced ping-pong rackets -- were donated to Edgerton House for resident use.

I want to comment a little bit more about the bi-weekly, and now our special monthly, socials.  Week after week, residents have been raving about the quality and taste of the food ordered, so it seems like we are doing something right.  Our first kick-off bi-weekly social had Redbones for dinner and debuted Rockband for the PS2.  Later socials included guest speakers to inform residents about various housing options on and off campus.  There was excellent attendance at our house-wide general meeting earlier this month, including a special cameo appearance by Lucia, our housemaster's baby.  We hope to continue hosting fun, casual events with the opportunity for residents to share their opinions with the house government and to hear relevant and important information.

We're working on several projects now to make Edgerton an even better place to live, and we're always open to new ideas or getting residents involved.  New DVDs for loan are coming soon, and a digitized loan system is in the works.  In the immediate future (Saturday), Edgerton House will be hosting the second annual Grad Gala Reception.  The officers have been busy planning this event for months now, so please come enjoy the fruits of our labor.  We'd love to see you there.
